Spring in Korea doesn’t ease in quietly. One week the trees are bare, and the next, entire streets are buried in pink. If you’re planning a trip around cherry blossom season, here are the spots actually worth your time โ including a few that don’t make it onto the usual tourist lists.

๐ธSeoul: More Than Just Yeouido
Yeouido and Seokchon Lake are the obvious choices, and for good reason โ both are stunning during peak bloom. That said, if you want something that feels less like a festival and more like a neighborhood, the Gyeongui Line Forest Park is worth the detour. It runs through residential areas in Mapo and Yongsan, and on a weekday morning, it’s surprisingly quiet. The Jeongdok Library area in Bukchon is another underrated option โ smaller scale, but beautiful, and far fewer crowds

๐ธGyeongju & Hadong: Where the Blossoms Have a Story
Gyeongju is worth visiting any time of year, but cherry blossom season adds another layer entirely. At Daereungwon, the ancient royal burial mounds rise up through a canopy of blossoms โ it’s an unusual combination that somehow works perfectly. Nothing quite like it anywhere else in Korea
Down in Hadong, the Simni Cherry Blossom Road โ also called the “Marriage Road” โ stretches for about four kilometers through an old village. Local legend says couples who walk it together won’t part. Whether or not you believe that, the road itself is genuinely one of the most scenic stretches in the country during spring

๐ธNamhae & Jeju: For Those Who Want to Get Away
Namhae doesn’t get nearly enough attention. Daraengi Village sits on a hillside overlooking the sea, and in spring, the terraced fields fill with yellow canola flowers while cherry blossoms frame the edges. It’s the kind of place that looks unreal in photos and even better in person
In Jeju, Noksan-ro is the one road that locals consistently point to as the best in spring. The cherry trees line both sides for several kilometers, and on a clear day with Hallasan in the background, it’s hard to argue with that reputation
